A Family Affair

Hi again, I'm Rachel - my amazing husband Mark is my incredible 2nd shooter!

In 2021, we started offering video in addition to photography. We're versatile with both photo & video - so we figured, why not offer both? So, Mark is now my "2nd photographer / lead videographer", and I'm the "lead photographer / 2nd videographer". Let me tell you how we shoot a wedding day with both photo & video!

During the getting ready time, I'm with the Bride and Mark is with the Groom. During this time, we're both primarily photographers, who are also shooting just enough video clips for a highlight film. Or, with our top package that includes a full Wedding Film, we bring a team of 4, with assistants (our sons Kyler, 17 and Louie, 15) capturing video while we capture photo during the getting ready time.

For first looks, we come together, with me on photo and Mark on video - or, when we have our assistants, they shoot video and we shoot photo. As the lead photographer, I do all the directing. I also capture portraits while Mark captures video of the candid moments. Mark also captures drone footage and sets up video at the ceremony site, as well as captures photos of the details.

During the Ceremony, we use two tripod cameras for video, one facing the Bride and one facing the Groom. Mark and I also each have two handheld cameras. Mark captures mostly video, while I capture everything on photo from lots of different angles. Mark also captures photo during vows, since the tripod cameras have those covered for video, so we each get both the Bride & Groom's reactions during vows. When we have our assistants, they help set up and break down equipment as well as capture additional angles.

During Cocktail Hour, we split up again, and I capture portraits while Mark captures photo & video of details and guests. When we have our assistants, one captures video with me and one captures video with Mark, while he and I each capture photo.

During the Reception, I capture primarily photo and Mark captures primarily video. During 1st dances and speeches, we use tripod video cameras to capture those in full, but also capture guest reactions with handheld cameras. When we have our assistants - well, you get the idea!

By being a married couple (and sometimes our kids) who capture everything, we're able to help our clients not only maintain the family intimacy of their wedding day, but our clients also save money by hiring one team. If that interests you - or even if you're looking for just photography or just videography alone - and you like our work, we'd love to chat!
